Email Address and Username StandardsThe Tasmanian Government Email Address and Username Standards provide for a consistent whole-of-government approach for the format of email addresses, usernames and display names. The Standards include guidance on selecting appropriate terms for personal email addresses, including domain names, and role-based or functional email addresses; policy for the management of redundant email addresses and domains; and a recommended approach for managing duplicate names. The Standards are based upon and supersede the Tasmanian Government Email Address Naming Standard (May 2000) and have been developed to encourage consistency of user attributes across government. Adoption of the Standards will assist agencies to participate in the implementation of multi-agency and whole-of-government IT applications and services. |
