Tasmanian Early Years Foundation

Art About Us - opportunity for artists

Expressions of interest have now closed for artists to work with young children, families and stafff as part of the Art About Us program in 2014.  EOIs are currently being assessed.

This program aims to work with communities through participation in an arts program led by an artist to:

  • enhance the wellbeing and development of young children through participation in creative activities
  • develop confidence and ideas for parents to engage creatively with their young children
  • extend the skills, knowledge and confidence of early years practitioners around facilitating meaningful creative experiences for young children.

Artists will work in collaboration with staff within selected Child and Family Centre.

Further information is available under Creative Connections.

The Foundation is pleased to jointly support with the Department of Education a forum on 11 April 2014 in Hobart titled 'The Environment as a Teacher, Sustaining Connections through the Early Year', keynote speakers include Kirsty Liljegren and Doug Fargher and including presentations on local ideas.
