Irrigation Water Restrictions - Liffey River and Tributaries

Notice under Section 92 of the Water Management Act 1999

Liffey River and Tributaries

Due to continued low flows in the above river and tributaries I John Gaby (RWMO) as delegate of the Minister under Section 10 of the Water Management Act 1999, hereby give notice restricting the taking of water from the Liffey River and tributaries for irrigation or into storage for irrigation in accordance with the following:

Except upon the written permission of the Minister or a person delegated on that behalf by the Minister, no water is to be taken under any Surety 5 or Surety 6 direct take allocations for irrigation purposes or into storage for irrigation purposes. This notice is in force from 7pm Friday 28 February 2014 until 7pm Friday 14 March 2014.

  1. Water users may continue to take water that has been purchased from Cressy Longford Irrigation Scheme Pty Ltd and also Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd.
  2. Any person who contravenes this notice risks prosecution.
