The Council of Law Reporting for Tasmania was created by the Council of Law Reporting Act 1990.
The Council is constituted as a body corporate and consists of 6 members appointed by the Governor. It is responsible for law reporting in the State of Tasmania.
The Council prepares and publishes, in association with a commercial legal publisher, selected reports of judicial decisions from the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
The Council consults and works with other Councils of Law Reporting for the purpose of improving its service to the judiciary and the legal profession of the State and other parts of the Commonwealth.
