What are a Trustee’s powers?

The Trustee has a responsibility to protect the Trust.

The role of a Trustee is regulated by legislation, common law and the deed or Will which creates the Trust and demands prudence, impartiality and efficient administration.

The powers of a Trustee include the power to:

  • sell, lease, buy or mortgage┬áproperty;
  • repair and improve prperty;
  • insure;
  • carry on a business;
  • pay maintenance and advance funds.
