Forty-six exploration drilling projects will receive grants from the Liberal National Government to help find the next generation of mines in Western Australia.

The funding is through the highly successful Co-funded Drilling program, a flagship program of the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), a State Government initiative supported by Royalties for Regions.

Mines and Petroleum Minister Bill Marmion said the current round of grants had been very competitive, attracting a record 101 applications requesting $11.1million in co-funding.

Designs for the final piece of land at Perth City Link have today been revealed, completing the picture of one of Australia’s most significant transit-oriented developments.

A consortium comprised of Leighton Properties and Mirvac Group has been chosen to develop the State Government’s 5.1ha land holding, 40 per cent of the Peth City Link project.

The development site will be transformed into a bustling urban community incorporating a new hotel, offices, shops, cafes, bars and apartments, as well as new public spaces.

Planning Minister John Day said the Government’s partnership with Leighton Properties/Mirvac marked another key milestone in the delivery of this major project.
