DPIPWE and Tasmania TogetherTasmania Together is a plan developed by the Tasmanian community to shape its future. The plan provided a 20-year vision for our State, a set of goals for achieving that vision and targets and measures for assessing our progress.
Achieving the vision is the responsibility of the entire community. Government and its agencies, for their part, have maintained an ongoing commitment to advancing the community’s goals believing that the plan provides solid direction for Tasmania going forward to 2020.
Tasmania Together has 12 broad goals that express the community’s priorities. DPIPWE is working with the community and industry to help achieve these goals, particularly in the areas of:
- Aboriginal Culture (Goal 7);
- Business and Industry (Goal 10);
- Built and Natural Heritage (Goal 11); and
- Natural Resources (Goal 12).
Tasmania Together is firmly embedded in our business processes and is one of the key drivers of decision-making in DPIPWE. The Department reports regularly to the community through the Annual Report and also by actively contributing to the Tasmania Together Online Benchmark reporting system. The system offers accessible information to the State’s economic, social and environmental progress.
