DPIPWE’s Fox Eradication Program started in 2006 as a management response to an accumulation of physical evidence indicating fox activity in Tasmania. The Program aims to eradicate foxes from Tasmania, reduce the risk of future fox incursions and develop community awareness of the serious threat foxes pose. The Fox Eradication Program is currently in its final stage of operations - Stage 3 (2013-2017): statewide monitoring and incursion response - and is a collaborative conservation effort of international importance.

Not wanted! Foxes are cryptic and elusive invasive animals that are recognised as a real and serious threat to Tasmania’s native wildlife, agriculture and economy. It is important that the Tasmanian community remain alert and immediately report all fox sightings or any possible evidence of fox activity to the INVASIVE SPECIES HOTLINE: 1300 369 688
