TMD develops and provides across-government communications and business solutions, including voice and data services, commodity business services, hosting and support, whole-of-government contract management, and service support.

Through the delivery of excellent service, value for investment and compelling solutions, TMD strives to remain the preferred provider of whole-of-government ICT solutions in Tasmania.


  • Implements IT initiatives to connect government agencies in providing seamless services and coordination to its customers
  • Develops and maintain whole-of-government ICT solutions, including telephony, data networking and email
  • Provides stakeholder management for the implementation of ICT solutions across government agencies
  • Obtains effective and efficient outcomes for IT, telecommunications and business services purchasing
  • Is the central contact for suppliers to enhance government opportunities for increased cost efficiencies and explore technology advancements


The TMD Service Management Centre is the single point of contact for customer queries regarding services provided by TMD.

The Service Management Centre provides:

Single point of contact – one email address and one phone number to make contacting TMD services easier for customers and ensure that customer calls or issues are tracked more effectively

Operating hours – the TMD Service Management Centre is available from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.
