Prison Facilities:

Prison services are provided through facilities located at Risdon, Hobart, Hayes and Launceston.  These provide care and custody, at various levels of security, for prisoners, people on remand (detainees) and some people detained under the Criminal Justice (mental Impairment) Act 1999.  In Hobart and Launceston, prisons also hold arrested people in police custody.
