The Government is working with Tasmanians to create a place where our kids can thrive.

We are taking action in three key activity areas:

  • Creating the linked State by leveraging the National Broadband Network
  • Integrating Government services for kids
  • Developing skills in new and emerging industries

The Government is taking action now to generate opportunities for our young people by:

  • Supporting the Gonski education reforms with $83 million in needs based funding.
  • Upgrading school buildings to create better learning environments, and continuing to build new Trade Training Centres in schools across the State.
  • Giving students in regional schools more choice in subjects through a partnership with colleges that encourages them to stay on for years 11 and 12.

Our priorities build on the work we are doing through Launching into Learning, our Child and Family Centres and reform of our vocational education and training system

The video features students from the ROK Café at Rokeby High School and is an example of how Tasmanians schools are giving young people the skills and confidence they need to step out into the workforce.
