Our suppliers

Like any large business, Transend has many suppliers. These range from multi-national construction firms to small local businesses. We have different agreements with our suppliers depending on the type of work they undertake for us.

Information for suppliers

Network integration

You may be aware that the government is undertaking reform of the electricity sector in Tasmania. Part of the reform includes merging the network businesses of Aurora Energy and Transend Networks to form a new network business. This will result in network service outcomes being delivered in a more efficient and cost effective manner. The new merged business is expected to commence on 1 July 2014. Until then Transend will continue to operate as usual.

The Government has announced the establishment of an administrative Board to oversee the integration of the two businesses. This is an important step forward in the process to merger. The Board is expected to be in place by mid-2013 and will be responsible for making key decisions that will affect the new business.

We understand that you will want to know how the changes may impact your business. We will keep you informed throughout the process. As more details come to light, we update the information on this web page.

Our values

We are developing a values-based culture at Transend. In 2011-12, the entire company—staff, management and directors—took part in a program to develop a set of corporate values.

We have since worked collaboratively to develop the behaviours that support our values.

As with all we do, our work with suppliers is guided by our values. Please feel free to talk to your Transend contacts about our values, behaviours and what they mean to us.

Terms and conditions

Transend enters into a range of agreements with its suppliers of good and services. The terms and conditions in these agreements vary, based on the type of work being performed.

Whenever Transend enters into a formal contract with a consultant, contractor or supplier for the supply of goods and/or services, the terms and conditions which are included in the contract document will apply.

If Transend procures goods and/or services using a purchase order which does not involve a formal contract, Transend’s standard Terms and Conditions of Sale will apply.
