The Department is the central policy and coordinating element of the Attorney-General's portfolio for which the Attorney-General and Minister for Home Affairs are responsible. State Government Crown Law
Crown Law provides a framework for the provision of legal services to the State of Tasmania, and provides support to the independent statutory legal officers, the Solicitor-General and the Director of Public Prosecutions. Crown Law includes the Office of the Crown Solicitor

State Government Solicitor-General
The Solicitor-General provides legal advice to Ministers, agencies and instrumentalities of the Crown, and represents the State of Tasmania in any constitutional litigation
