JFLIP Program
Aim of the Program
- This is a free program for children who engage in unsafe fire-lighting behaviour, either in the home or elsewhere. The content of the program is tailored to the age and maturity of the participating children .
Who delivers the Program?
- The Tasmania Fire Service has a number of professional firefighters trained to work in this specialised area.
How is the Program Taught?
- Firefighters teach participating children through role playing, discussions and other interactive activities. The firefighters build a relationship of trust with the children and together with the childrens' parents they instil a respect for fire and an understanding of the negative consequences of fire-lighting.
