Strategy and innovation
Strategy and Innovation is a division within the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts.
Our main purpose is to provide policy advice, direction and the framework to guide Tasmania business and industry’s continual growth within the global economy.
The division comprises three main business units:
- Digital Futures: To develop an innovative, sustainable and vibrant Tasmanian digital economy
- Antarctic Tasmania: grow the Antarctic and Science & Research sectors that contribute to Tasmania's economy and community brand
- Strategy and Impact Assessment: the development of effective strategic planning and policy advice. The core work conducted by this business unit is the development and implementation of the Economic Development Plan for Tasmania.
