About Us

The Basslink Interconnector enhances security of supply on both sides of Bass Strait; protecting Tasmania against the risk of drought-constrained energy shortages while providing Victoria and southern states with secure renewable energy during times of peak demand.

The Basslink Interconnector is the world's second longest undersea electricity cable. Owned by CitySpring Infrastructure Trust, Basslink delivers excellence in the areas of safety, reliability and performance.

Basslink has a number of fibre optic assets which carry high speed telecommunication traffic. Basslink Telecoms Pty Limited ("Basslink Telecoms") offers a range of wholesale transmission services between Tasmania and Victoria.

For further information contact Basslink Telecoms.

Basslink was purchased by CitySpring Infrastructure Management Pte. Ltd. (“CSIM”), trustee-manager of CitySpring Infrastructure Trust (“CitySpring”) in August 2007.

CitySpring is the first infrastructure business trust registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore ("Authority"). As a pioneer in a new asset class in Singapore, and with sponsorship from Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited ("Temasek"), CitySpring aims to position itself as a leading player in a growing sector, by achieving significant growth through acquisitions. It has been established with the principal objective of investing in infrastructure assets and providing Unitholders with long-term, regular and predictable distributions and the potential for long-term capital growth.

Temasek currently holds, through its wholly- owned subsidiaries, 27.8% of the Units, making it the single largest Unitholder of CitySpring. Temasek presently intends to remain as CitySpring's single largest Unitholder and intends to position CitySpring as its key platform for infrastructure investments consistent with the business objectives of CitySpring.
