Open to Talent, which outlines the University of Tasmania’s strategic priorities for the next 10 years, will be presented to the University Council for approval at its meeting of 21 April.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Rathjen, released a Green Paper (PDF 178KB), in late 2011, identifying UTAS’s priorities for the next ten years. Following feedback from staff, students and the community – and the consequent uptake of and reference to the document in the UTAS community – it became clear the Green Paper provides the foundation for Open to Talent, with only modest edits required, reflecting the feedback received. The outcomes of this consultation can be accessed on this site.
The Green Paper was informed by wide consultation undertaken in the second half of 2011. Workshops were held at all Tasmanian campuses, as well as Sydney, throughout August 2011, attracting hundreds of UTAS staff and over 1000 staff, students and members of the community accessed an online survey to share their ideas.
