Official visits made to Tasmania

The State Protocol Office hosts official visits to Tasmania by High Commissioners, Ambassadors and Consuls General. During their tenure representing their country, it is expected that they make an official visit to each State and Territory. The State Protocol office liaises with embassy/consular staff to create a program that reflects both their country’s interests in the State and our interests in their country and its products.

Every effort is made to ensure that the State and its economy benefit from official visits by diplomats. Visitors are provided with extensive briefings on Tasmania's primary and secondary industries, and itineraries include visits to both Government and private enterprise.
