GLAMORGAN SPRING BAY STATISTICS

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council has prepared a Demographic Profile for the Municipality which provides a snapshot of statistical information on characteristics of residents of the Municipality. The profile is based on the latest information from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2001 Census.

This represents a 1.1% increase since 1996 and a 3.4% increase since 1991.

Orford 485 persons
Swansea 529 persons
Triabunna 700 persons

* Age Characteristics of Glamorgan Spring Bay

Median Age is 43 years, (above the State average of 36 years). In 1996 it was 39 years while in 1991 it was 35 years.

The major population group is 50-59 years at 16.2%, (above the State average of 12.2%).

* Cultural Diversity in Glamorgan Spring Bay

85% of the population were born in Australia.

90.76% of residents are Australian Citizens.

3.28% of the population are Indigenous Australians.
